Lisa & Preston's Wedding Day

Lisa and Preston's wedding day was a beautiful, wonderful day. They were married in the Mt. Timpanogos temple.
Here they are coming out of the temple...Mr. & Mrs. Kent.

Jace

Beautiful girls!
Abby getting a drink on such a hot day!
Courtney at the reception. It clouded over and rained a bit, so everything moved inside, but it made a beautiful rainbow, and made the temperature so nice & cool.

Abby snatched Aliysa's bouquet. She loves flowers. I wish I had a better picture of the bouquets that my sister Ahren made for the wedding. She searched high and low for flowers that were the right color, but to no avail! So, being the amazing person she is, she bought white roses and hand colored each petal with a Sharpie marker. After she used up over a dozen markers and stained her fingers permanently blue, she finished all the beautiful flower arrangements. I think she deserves some kind of award! What a dedicated sister!

Spencer having fun.

Pretty Mallory
Most of the nieces and nephews.

Andrew eating his ice cream. He had to fuel up and prepare for the hard work ahead of him - climbing over fences to escape the reception, climbing up the pretty rock formations, and standing under the raingutter drainspout when the rainstorm was at its peak. Let's just say he stayed busy. The ice cream, by the way was done by SubZero ice cream. It was so interesting. They pour liquid ice cream in a bowl, pour lots and lots of liquid nitrogen in, which freezes it instantly, and then they serve it. It was easy to find Jace all evening - right by the ice cream people. The guy serving it even gave Jace a cupfull of the liquid nitrogen and had him go dump it on the groom. I'm sure Preston was a bit shocked. Jace informed me that although liquid nitrogen is used to burn off skin abnormalities, it didn't burn Preston's skin because it takes 3 seconds to burn it, and it evaporates before that. I think I might choose straight jackets for my boy's wedding attire next reception!

Aren't these two cute? You can see Ahren in the background holding Abby. Abby was instantly attached to Ahren when she first saw her on this trip. She wouldn't even let me hold her if Ahren was anywhere around.
Preston & Lisa left the reception with lots of bubbles being blown at them, and headed to Park City for their reception. This was such a neat day, especially being altogether as a family in the temple for the sealing ceremony. Congratulations Lisa & Preston!

Lisa's Bridal Shower

Tara planned a bridal shower for Lisa. It was so much fun. We left Idaho at 5:00 am so we could make it in time for this shower (Bob was working on our car until 2:30 am! What a guy.) The shower was a "spa day", and Tara really pampered all of us. We began with yoga, and then we had several different areas we could go to: foot baths & pedicures, facials, and the yummy food - cute flower shaped cucumber sprout sandwiches, fruit, lemon/lime water, and cupcakes. Tara had prepared all the facial stuff herself - avocado, honey, oatmeal, yogurt, orange juice and other ingredients were involved. This was a fun day to spend as girls before Lisa's big day!

Soccer & scouting

Courtney and Aliysa both played soccer this year. They both really enjoyed it. Aliysa's coach is the head boys soccer coach at a high school in Idaho Falls. He was great, and Aliysa loved every minute of her soccer experience. She did really well! Courtney learned to be brave and she played her heart out even when she got hit in the face by the ball, and when she got the wind knocked out of her! We all had fun going to the games. In the picture of us on the sidelines, the shirt I'm holding is Jace's scout shirt. I was sewing his badges on because he had a court of honor that evening. He was awarded his tenderfoot and second class ranks, as well as seven merit badges. I forgot to take pictures there.

New Hair Do'

So, after the family reunion was winding down, Rachel, Nan, Jess and I decided we needed a day at the spa. Kate came along just for the fun of being with us. We all got our hair cut, and some of us got our eyebrows waxed. This was a new experience for me, and I must say I've never had a shape to my bushy eyebrows before. It's fabulous! Who knew that your whole being could be changed just by the magic of hot wax and tweezers? It brought tears to my eyes...

First day of school

Today was our first day of school! You can check out our post & pictures about it at

Dinner at Amy & Brent's

Bob's cousin Amy, and her husband, Brent, invited us all over for dinner and a birthday party for their son, Michael. They rented an inflatable jumping house. Their yard is a paradise for kids even without the inflatable house. They have a homemade putting green just the size for kids, a super fun playhouse, swings, trampoline, nerf guns, swords, laser tag, basically something for everyone. And they're brave enough to invite the whole Lamoreaux family clan over! We all had a ball, ate lots of great food, and left happy.

Abby loved the little slide and was so proud that she could do it all by herself! This video shows a a bit of the fun we had.

Summer recap - part one

Well, soccer is over for Aliysa and Courtney, Aliysa and Jace have finished girl's camp and scout camp, and their horse show, the Lamoreaux family reunion has come and gone, we're back from our trip to Utah for Lisa & Preston's wedding, and I'm ready to post some pictures from the summer! We stayed busy, busy, busy. I felt like I ran around all summer long.

We planted some potatoes & tomatoes and a grapevine, and that was the extent of our garden this year (then we almost killed them several times) Thank goodness we aren't to the time where we'll have to live off what we can produce, yet!

Bob was in school until August, and he had another straight A semester. He worked so hard. He would wake up well before 5 am many mornings so he could study. I don't know how he did it! He has been preparing to student teach seminary this coming school year, and he was recently hired for an internship where he will be working as a junior analyst for a venture capital firm out of Salt Lake City. He is also the head coach for Jace's football team, and he hopes to be playing football at the college, if he can squeeze it in to his schedule. This will be another very busy semester for him.

We're excited to start school and settle down into a less hectic schedule (if possible).

Today I'm posting some pictures from the Lamoreaux Family Reunion - these are from the day we went to the splash park in Rexburg.

This is as close as Mallory or Andrew would get to the water. Crazy kids!

Spencer had a ball!

Aliysa and Megan stayed pretty wet.

When Andrew heard that we were going to the splash park, he ran upstairs, and put Abby's swimsuit on, then his. He ran in and told me: "I have a whole swimsuit on!"

More pictures to come...
