I woke up to a dozen of my favorite flowers...
Abby got to dress herself in an entire outfit of her favorite color...
We ate pink pancakes
Colored with fresh beet juice and raspberries (no artificial ingredients, yeay!)
And topped with raspberry cinnamon honey butter
Some of the "heart shape" pancakes looked more like a real human heart shape
The kids decorated the dining room while I made breakfast
And we enjoyed it together...
I love the concentration it takes for a two year old to use a fork
It helps if you hold the pancake down with the other hand.
After breakfast, we had devotional to start our school day. We sang "As I Have Loved You", read the story of The Good Samaritan for our Storied Scriptures, and read two talks from the New Era about siblings who loved and served each other.
There are all sorts of valentines and love notes around the house (mmm, my heart is melting)
Festive manicures, hairstyles, and outfits...
...And treats!
We used a homemade marshmallow recipe (sweetened with honey) to make these. When we got to the point where it is "marshmallow fluff", then we poured it over the rice cereal. We're hoping they will harden up, and won't turn soggy or anything like that. So far, it seems to be working.
I LOVE Valentine's Day! How fun to have a day to celebrate love. I'm so, so blessed to be married to someone who loves me so much and who I love beyond words to describe.
"...it is certain that almost any good man and any good woman can have
happiness and a successful marriage if both are willing to pay the
price.”
― Spencer W. Kimball
It is so rewarding to be married. Marriage is wonderful. In time you
begin to think alike and have the same ideas and impressions. You have
times when you are extremely happy, times of testing, and times of
trial, but the Lord guides you through all of those growth experiences
together."
― Richard G. Scott
I'm also so thankful to have parents who love each other, and parents-in-law who love each other. I've never heard my dad raise his voice with my mom. I'm blessed to have a husband who treats me in the same respectful way, like I'm the most perfect person ever. He never criticizes me. I know I'd crumple if he did.
Now most of my kids are at violin, cello, ballroom, and piano lessons. Abby is in quiet time (well, she's sitting by me, coloring & cutting paper and chattering non-stop). She just was telling me about earlier today when Taycie was playing and she screamed really loud. "It hurt my ears constremely bad".
Taycie is down for a nap, and I think I just might take one too.
Can't wait until my Valentine gets home from work!
Happy Valentine's Day!

Aaahhh...what a cute post. I love Valentines Day too! I made some whole spelt cinnamon rolls for Daddy and I put shredded apple in with the filling--he loves that kind. We are going to the temple Saturday and then out to eat to continue our Valentine's celebration.
