This week

We started school,

Left Courtney at home when we went to a combined mutual bonfire activity (I thought she rode with Bob and Aliysa, instead she was sitting in our little car waiting for me while I took Jace in a different vehicle.  She waited patiently for over a half an hour, while we were enjoying listening to a speaker and sitting by a bonfire.  What a great Mom I am, I didn't even notice that she wasn't there until Aliysa asked me where Courtney was.  She had already called Bob, and he had left to get her by then.  He returned with a red-eyed little girl.  I hope my apology and some s'mores helped her feel better!)

Had our first day of iFamily classes,
Some of the students in my nature study class
Bob started teaching seminary for our home school group,

Decided during one day of school that the weather was so good that we needed to study ancient Greek history and marine life outside on our island...

...which turned into a "nature study" class (jumping in the river is necessary for scientific observations)

Went to Jace's first home game,
Which turned into a broken finger and an SC joint separation (the doctor hopes it is just a grade one separation, although it might be worse. We decided to wait on an MRI.  We'll see how fast it heals).  Poor Jace.  He was quite tough and played for a few more plays before deciding that getting his muscle ripped from his collarbone was just too painful.

Had our first day of gymnastics,

Zach after an amazing double front flip.

Blythe and Miss Tracy, gymnastics assistant and teacher
Went to Spencer's football game - they won 26-12.  Spencer scored two touchdowns.
On Saturday evening, I attended a fireside held at the BYU-I auditorium.  The speakers were from the auxiliary general boards.  It was a wonderful fireside.  While I was there, Aliysa babysat for our neighbor, Courtney babysat at a reception at our ward building, and the rest of the family watched the BYU game.

So, that is some of what we've done this week.  Along with doing mountains of laundry, eating some good meals, and all the other tasks of life.

For anyone who'd like, here is a blog I started for my nature study class.  Hope you enjoy it!

Poor Jace. What a week. I especially loved the scientific measurements done by jumping into the water.

Love all your posts lately. Tell Jace to hang in there and we feel so sorry for him. Looks like you all had a fun summers end and are really enjoying school again. Love you all.
