Christmas Program

A sweet older lady in our ward called me weeks ago and asked if our family could do a Christmas Program at the Senior Citizen Center in our community.  This is not a home where Senior's live, but an activity/meals center.  She told me it should be very simple, just what we would do for our own family for family home evening.

I pictured a few seniors watching us do a simple lesson or nativity.  I still didn't really want to commit to it, so I said "what day?"  "You can choose the day!" she replied.  All right, I was caught.  I agreed to it.  Thankfully, along the way I asked two of my friends to have their families join us.

On Sunday, when we found out that they were announcing throughout our community and in every ward that "the Lamoreaux family will be presenting a Christmas Program", we really panicked.

We got together on Monday just a few hours before the program to practice and get our costumes ready.  Luckily my friend Annette has oodles of costumes, and a very creative mind.  She told us not to expect many people, usually there are only a handful at the SCC, even when they advertise.

It turned out that around 50 people showed up.  The children did a great job on the program,   Bob told a story, a lady in our ward told a story, and we sang some songs and ate cookies together.  It turned out to be a wonderful evening.
